Investor and active owner

Wallenius Lines is an investor and active owner within the global shipping industry, specifically the international car and Ro-Ro segment which has become the trademark for Wallenius.

The company’s roots go back to the 1930s, when sea captain Olof Wallenius — a pioneer in modern car transportation by sea — founded the business. His entrepreneurial spirit and drive for innovation laid the foundation for what is today a global operation with a strong focus on environmental responsibility, quality, and long-term development.

In 2003 Wallenius Lines restructured its operations and it’s sister company Wallenius Marine was founded. Wallenius Marine took over responsibility for technical management, ship design, newbuilding projects. Today, Wallenius Lines is part of the Soya Group and fully owned by Rederi AB Soya.

UECC
Together with one of the world’s largest shipping companies, the Japanese NYK, Wallenius Lines owns 50% of the short-sea shipping line United European Car Carrier (UECC). UECC specializes in providing sustainable and efficient short-sea transportation solutions for the automotive and RoRo markets in Europe. www.uecc.com

WALLENIUS WILHELMSEN
Since April 2017, Wallenius Lines, along with Wilh. Wilhelmsen Holding ASA, is the majority shareholder in Wallenius Wilhelmsen ASA, which is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. Wallenius Wilhelmsen ASA is a global leader in transportation and logistics services, offering integrated solutions for the shipment of cars, trucks, and heavy equipment. www.walleniuswilhemsen.com 

WALLENIUS SOL 
Wallenius Lines also owns 57% of WALLENIUS SOL, together with Svenska Orient Linien (SOL). WALLENIUS SOL, established in April 2019, aims to strengthen the infrastructure in the Baltic Sea region by providing reliable and sustainable shipping services. www.wallenius-sol.com

OCEANBIRD
Wallenius Lines owns 50% of AlfaWall Oceanbird, a joint venture with Alfa Laval. Oceanbird, which started in December 2021, is dedicated to developing innovative stiff wing sails to reduce the environmental impact of the shipping industry. www.theoceanbird.com

LAKEWAY LINK 
Wallenius Lines is also 50/50 owner of Lakeway Link, a shipping line connecting Sweden with continental Europe via Lake Vänern. NORDIC WAY SERVICES
Wallenius Lines also owns 100% of Nordic Way Services, a logistics coordination company specialized in civil-military cooperation and Host Nation Support in the Nordic region, supporting Sweden’s new role in NATO. www.nordicwayservices.com
